Order Confirmation
A document used by the seller to re-confirm that the order was received and show all negotiated product details, requirements, cost, quantity, lead times and other terms
Sales Confirmation
A sales order confirmation for a sale of goods transaction, drafted by the seller and sent in response to a buyer’s purchase order.
Pro forma Invoice
The confirmed invoice (pre-shipment) from the vendor, reconfirming the exact details of the item, price, incoterm, form of shipping, lead time and other confirmed information.
Tax Invoice
A sales order confirmation for a sale of goods transaction, drafted by the seller and sent in response to a buyer’s purchase order.
Purchase Order
The official order document presented from the seller to the buyer stating the exact product details, dimensions, amount, form of delivery, lead time and other terms.
Declaration
A generic document that can be used by the shipper to state the details of the goods being shipped, including Port of Loading and Destination, as well well as details of the shipment tracking information.
Bill Of Lading
The goods carrier will provide the shipper with a Bill of Lading, which acts as evidence of contract of carriage, receipt of goods and document title to the goods.
Commercial Invoice
A Commercial Invoice reported by the shipper for the goods actually delivered. This will be used during the customs clearance process by local customs.
Container Packing List
This document specifies the packaging and loading of products inside full container export shipments. It includes the types, quantities, sizes and weights of packaging for all packages included in each container.
Declaration
A generic document that can be used by the shipper to state the details of the goods being shipped, including Port of Loading and Destination, as well well as details of the shipment tracking information.
Declaration Of Origin
A declaration as to the origin of the products on the Commercial Invoice or any other document relating to the goods made in connection with their exportation by the manufacturer, seller, retailer, exporter or other competent person.
Forwarding Instruction
A detailed document from the shipper giving full instructions to the goods carrier in order for them to arrange the cargo’s export / logistics requirements.
Importer Security Filing
An Importer Security Filing is a document and filing process that is required by the United States Customs and Border Protection (CPB) which requires import containerized cargo information.
Packing Declaration
A declaration by the shipper specifying the types of materials used for packaging the products and complying with ISPM15.
Packing List
A document describing the packing and storage of items under LCL (Less Container Load), air freight and mixed shipments of sea freight. It covers the types of packaging, the amount, size and weight of all items in each shipment.
Packing List Item
The Packing List item is a more detailed version of the commercial invoice but without price information. It must include the following: invoice number, quantity and description of the goods, weight of the goods, number of packages, and shipping marks and numbers.
Shipping Instruction
Lists instructions from the exporter to the forwarder or carrier. It contains information on the goods and the route to their destination, any transport requirements, customs information, who is to receive what documents and an allocation of the costs.
Shipper’s Letter Of Instruction
The written report of the shipper giving full directions to the agent (usually freight forwarder) so that the export and/or logistics of the cargo can be properly arranged.
Verified Gross Mass Declaration
A declaration by the shipper of the total mass in compliance with the criteria of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Verified Gross Mass (SOLAS) using Method 1 or Method 2.
